  • Each team is comprised of eleven players, and one team will have possession of the ball at any given point. The team in possession of the ball is called the offense and tries to advance the ball down the field to the end zone. The other team, or the defense, will try to block the offensive team from scoring the goal.
  • The game is divided into four quarters comprised of fifteen minutes each with a twelve-minute break at halftime. At the end of the first and third quarters, there is a two-minute break to allow both teams ample time to change from one end of the field to the other.
  • Each team is divided into three parts: offense, defense, and special teams who come in for particular kicking situations. The offense is responsible for advancing the ball down the field while the defense blocks the opposing team’s offense players. The game is comprised of pre-determined plays in which the offense takes certain steps toward advancement, and the defense’s job is to anticipate and block.

  • In many underserved areas, corner stores offer the majority of food options for community members, which tend to be packaged items. Corner stores are a wonderful place to target to ensure that enough fresh produce is available in any given community, though it takes initial investments and support to make the shift to businesses that can successfully sustain fresh items.
